Goldwork Notebook Stitching Retreat

Want to get away with it all on our stitching holiday and relax with some wonderful Goldwork Embroidery. Meet like-minded people on our Monday-Friday retreats with many different ones held year round so there is something for everyone. No chores, no daily routine to distract you, and the luxury of feeling looked after from dinner on your day of arrival to lunch on departure day.

Join us to learn the basic techniques of goldwork to the more advanced. How and why stitches are done in a certain way and how to perfect the skills that you already have. Create your own Goldwork ‘Bible’ that you can use to refer back to throughout your Goldwork and embroidery journey. Add samples of threads and wires and learn what they are called and what they are used for. Stitch beautiful samples showing the use of threads. Learn several different techniques essential for any goldwork project. How to couch to perfection. How to stitch leather. Using padding to give the best effects. This will be a book that you can also add to in the future.

This stitching holiday is suitable for everyone, is there a particular stitch you want to learn? we can show you how to do it. Our tutor is Sarah Rakestraw who has many years of experience in the world of Goldwork, even writing a book Glorious Goldwork which is available on our website.

A pack will be available to purchase, sometimes you are able to choose the colours you want to work with, so the cost will be selection dependent. This pack will include a Luxury Notebook, the cost of the pack will be approximately £80 (subject to change)

Venue details

Our stitching retreat venue Foxhill house is based in the stunning Cheshire countryside, you will have your own beautiful and cosy en-suite bedroom. With large grounds to explore for a relaxing walk. All meals are created on site and are included in the cost.

All embroidery retreat residential’s include accommodation which is generally a on suite bedroom for one. Occasionally we will have other options available.

Cost includes all accommodation and meals as follows

Breakfast includes cereals, fruit, toast etc

Morning Coffee (or a variety of teas, Coffee or juice) comes with a selection of biscuits.

Lunch is a buffet meal, hot or cold.

Afternoon Tea (a variety of teas, or coffee, or juice)  with biscuits available.

Dinner is a three-course meal, hot or cold.
