Golden Hinde Blog Dec 2020

Words by Susan Hinde

Hello everyone,

We thought that it was time to start our blog for Golden Hinde again and keep you up to date with what has been going on with the team here at Golden Hinde throughout 2020

Nearly everything that we had planned to run in 2020 was cancelled, courses, classes and shows and the team has been working hard to re arrange everything. Unfortunately Denman college also closed its doors, we had been teaching some of our classes there and it was a great WI constitution. I really loved going there with Sarah meeting all the other lovely talented tutors and seeing their work. It was a beautiful place to relax and sew with great food and accommodation

Kate is as busy as ever running around keeping the everything going, getting orders out and updating stock and trying to catch up after the lockdowns. She has been setting up offers again since she has returned to the office including the fabulous 12 days of Christmas, details of this can be found on the website, social media channels and our Newsletter (which links will be added to the blog)

We have a new member of staff called Janine who started with us in November. Janine is being trained up by Kate and there is a lot to learn, training has been a challenge with social distancing in a small space but they are getting there.

The website has gone mad over the last 6 months and whilst Kate was furloughed Sarah had to hold the fort. This year has brought us a lot of new buzz words such as Zoom, this has been great for most people helping families and friends keep in touch. Due to the lockdowns Sarah moved her regular classes on to zoom which has been working well, and everyone has taken to it quite well. Its a brand new world out there for us to learn about. Sarah will be showing me how to use it over the Christmas break which is exciting.

We are hoping to update this blog on a more regular basis giving you updates, reviews and some hints and tips.

We would love to see any pieces of work you have produced during lockdown. Send any pictures or questions to [email protected] and we will try to get them answered

We wish you all a merry Christmas. Take care everyone
